Berlin, Copenhagen, London: We all have a city where we simply feel at home in terms of fashion. For working student Lilian, it’s definitely Paris. What excites you about the style of Parisians…

Chanel, Dior, Balenciaga – they stand for top-class fashion. The designs have been created in Paris since their origins. The city where fashion designer Charles Frederick Worth brought haute couture to life and which to this day forms the golden conclusion to fashion weeks. But it’s not just the fashion roots that make the metropolis a big player. The nonchalant style of the Parisians always blows my mind when I drink my café au lait on the street corner…

Farewell to the beret – classics are combined in new ways

Many fashionistas associate France’s capital with striped shirts, tweed suits à la Coco Chanel and ballerinas. But modern French girl chic can do so much more! Parisians appreciate their classic key pieces, but combine them with the latest trends. In the fashion capital, everyone moves close to the zeitgeist!

So does THE Parisian fashion influencer Camille Charrière. She now lives in London, but still knows what très chic is. She combines a timeless striped shirt with casual flared trousers and trendy shades with yellow-tinted glasses. The 34-year-old proves that new and old are mixed here.

L’Amour Vintage – the Parisian twist through second-hand fashion

In the Galeries Lafayette and on the Champs Élysées, numerous high-fashion boutiques line up next to each other, presenting the latest trends from the catwalk. Wonderful pieces, but you have to dig deep into your wallet for them. The style of young Parisians is therefore characterized by one thing: vintage finds! Thrift shops in the Marais or Montmartre promise real treasures from the ville de la mode.

So we learn from the Parisians: the mix of old and new makes it! Vintage fashion promotes individuality and creates distinctive looks. The Spanish stylist María Bernad, with her own upcycling project called “Les Fleurs Studios”, lives this style and stands out in every fashion crowd. The next shopping trip is to a second-hand store, because in addition to the result of a cool look, browsing in the store is fun and supports a sustainable fashion cycle.

Très naturel – beige, cream and co. set the Paris tone
