Paris: the incredible rescue of a truck that fell into the Seine


Incredible image from the Issy-les-Moulineaux bridge. A mixer truck – which fell into the Seine around 7.30 a.m. – was still in the Seine around 10 a.m. on Thursday March 24, while a rescue operation was underway.

This morning, around 7:30 a.m., a Unibéton mixer truck fell into the Seine, following an incorrect maneuver by the driver. Inside were two men, the driver and a passenger, who were immediately evacuated.

According to our information, one of them was in cardio-respiratory emergency and the other in relative emergency. They were transported to a hospital ward.

At 10 a.m., the delicate towing operation was still in progress, under the Issy-les-Moulineaux bridge, which connects the city to Boulogne-Billancourt (92), while a boat from the River Brigade of the firefighters of Paris was there.

On board, a rescue team made up of at least 4 people – including divers – was working to harness the truck. Other boats from the River Brigade of the Paris prefecture were on hand to secure the area.

An investigation must be opened to determine the causes of the accident. More information to come.
