The grand prize for the best baguette 2022 has just been awarded to Damien Dedun, an artisan-baker working in the 15th arrondissement, the Parisian municipality announced this Thursday, May 12.

The winner of this grand prize, artisan baker Damien Dedun, stood out from his 134 other competitors, thanks to a baguette that was judged on its appearance, its cooking quality, the consistency of its crumb, its smell and of course its taste.

A prize that will allow the lucky winner to “officially supply the kitchens of the Elysée Palace” for a year, recalls the municipality, in addition to receiving an endowment of 4,000 euros.

A prestigious contract, which fell through last year, when the winner of the best baguette in Paris was overtaken by a controversy, suspected of having relayed “Islamist messages”, critical or even hostile to France .

On the podium of the best artisan-bakers in Paris are also Khemoussi Mansour, who works at “Les Délices de Glacière” at 90, boulevard Auguste Blanqui (13th), and Tsuchun Chang, who works at “La Parisienne Saint-Dominique” at 85 , rue Saint-Dominique (7th).
