France on Friday May 13 condemned the attack on the night of May 11 targeting the Consulate General of Turkey located in the inner suburbs of Paris, specifying “monitor the situation with the utmost vigilance“.

“We strongly condemn the aggression perpetrated on the night of May 11 to 12 against the Consulate General of Turkey in Boulogne-Billancourt“, commune which borders the capital, declared the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs during a press briefing. According to police sources, fireworks mortar fire targeted the consulate around 2:40 a.m. on the night of Wednesday to Thursday, without causing any injuries. The origin of these shots was not communicated.
“The competent departments of the Ministries of the Interior and of Justice were quickly contacted and the government will continue to monitor the situation with the greatest vigilance.added the spokeswoman. The ministry further specifies that the Turkish embassy, which is located in the capital, as well as the residence of the ambassador “benefit from specific and adapted protection measures“.
