Little by little, the ressourceries are making their nest in Paris. In recent years, the addresses of solidarity stores, which sell new products at bargain prices or second-hand are multiplying in the face of a certain enthusiasm. This is the case of La Fabrique 230, inaugurated this Tuesday, March 8, in the 15th arrondissement.
“Welcome to the Salvation Army’s first resource centre”, can be read on the doors of this 350 m2 space, opened last November under the name of La fabrique 230, at 77 rue Castagnary (15th).
Inaugurated on Tuesday, this resource center is the very first to settle in the 15th arrondissement. “One of the most populated in the capital”, recalls Florentin Letissier, the deputy mayor of Paris in charge of the social and solidarity economy, but who underlines that it is the 19th structure of its kind in Paris .
There, interested parties will be able to find “a wide spectrum of products”, specifies the elected official, with textiles, but also books, CDs and DVDs, as well as furniture, crockery, decoration and toys for children.
In total since its opening, 4,468 kilos of clothing, books and other goods have been brought to the site by individuals. A good thing for Florentin Letissier who hopes to soon be able to “count in tons”.
Accessible to all, without status or resource verification, La Fabrique 230 will be open every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., as well as every other Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
“First brick of a more global project”
And it is a project “which will further develop”, assures the ecologist assistant, who speaks of a “first brick of a more global project”, since this resource center will soon be coupled with a “bricothèque”, which will be installed at 11 boulevard Lefebvre (15th) and inaugurated in September 2022.
In total, the Parisian municipality has invested 300,000 euros in these two projects, in particular within the framework of the Participatory Budget, and in partnership with the social landlord Paris Habitat which allows in particular “to offer cheaper rents”.
As part of this project, it also co-finances – with the State and the region – 8 integration positions, which will be added to a team of around 7 people who will work daily at the resource centre.
According to Florentin Letissier, “it really fits into our strategy” to have “a network” of similar structures on “the whole of the Parisian territory”. And to ensure: we really want to continue to deploy this type of resource centre”.
Already in February, a solidarity resource centre, called Emmaüs Campus, had opened its doors in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, aimed at precarious students.
Located close to the University of Paris-Diderot, it offers second-hand products as well as new ones, from the recycling sector. Among them, a textile part, with clothes as well as books and stationery.
