Two weeks ago, Hajdar V.* (50) stabbed 27-year-old Leart R.* in a parking lot in Rapperswil-Jona SG with a knife. The victim suffered life-threatening injuries, had to undergo two operations and has been in an artificial coma ever since.
The young man is doing better now. He’s conscious again. His fiancée said to the “Zürichsee-Zeitung”: “His condition is stable and we were able to talk to him.”
The circumstances of the incident are still unclear. Even a witness call from last week did not bring any new insights.

Why did V. carry a knife?
Leart R. was on his way to his father’s birthday party. He hadn’t parked his car very neatly in his rental parking lot in front of the house. According to eyewitnesses, a rear wheel of the car was very thin on the dividing line to the neighboring parking lot. Reason enough for its owner Hajdar V., who was unable to park his vehicle, to first alert the police – and brutally stab him before they even arrived. It is unclear why he had a knife with him at all.
The public prosecutor’s office has now applied to the competent compulsory measures court for Hajdar V. to be held in custody. It is initially valid until March 15th. The investigations are still ongoing. (man)
