Border runs in zigzags
The reason for the new border demarcation is the fact that the Egelsee, a retention pond that improves flood safety, was created between 2011 and 2013. The current border line now follows a former stream bed in a zigzag course through the lake, meaning that the course of the state border is no longer recognizable.
