Pas-de-Calais: two children found dead in a burning car, their father suspected

Two little boys, two brothers aged 5 and 7, were found dead in a burning car this Monday morning March 14 in Vaudricourt, Pas-de-Calais. Their father, suspected of having set fire to the vehicle, was hospitalized with serious burns.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered the charred bodies of the two children.

The father was seriously injured near the burning vehicle but was still conscious.

The latter “was transported to the hospital in Lille, in the service of severe burns”, indicated the parquet floor of Béthune, confirming information from the daily La Voix du Nord.

According to this same source, “the first elements suggest that he set fire with his children in the back”.

“We know it was an arson attack”

“We know it’s an arson,” also said a police officer in charge of communication.

According to his information, the father of the family told the firefighters that he had set fire to the vehicle while he was inside, but then managed to get out.

Firefighters from the Pas-de-Calais departmental fire and rescue service intervened in this village near Béthune around 8:40 a.m., after being alerted to a car fire by a neighbor.
