It was the idol of an entire country who passed away on Sunday. Former German defender Franz Beckenbauer has died at the age of 78. To pay tribute to him, Marius Trésor, his counterpart in the French team, spoke in the show Pascal Praud and you an anecdote during a Germany-France meeting (Germany’s 2-1 victory), in 1973. “I was the one who scored the French goal, thanks to Beckenbauer because I hit the goal of the 35 meters and the ball hits his back at the start. As the goalkeeper was advanced, he was lobbed and that allowed me to score my first goal with the France team”, he remembers on Europe 1.
