Formula 1 fans are commemorating this May 1 the 30th anniversary of the death of the legendary Brazilian driver, Ayrton Senna, who died following an accident at the San Marino Grand Prix, on the Imola circuit, in 1994. “At the time, drivers were less well protected than today. There was a before and after Imola 1994, but even today, there are situations where drivers say ‘be careful, in the name of the spectacle, let’s not compromise on safety'”, explains the Formula 1 specialist on Europe 1.
