Pascale Ogier: Struck down on leaving a nightclub, on the eve of her 26th birthday…

Promising, talented actress, “daughter of” and famous since her adolescence… With her talent and her bewitching physique, Pascale Ogier had everything to become the future legend of cinema. A figure of auteur cinema in the early 80s, the young woman had already been spotted by several directors and was already well integrated into the new generation of French cinema.

A little too much perhaps, since it is her taste for parties and going out which ended up losing her. While the preview of his new film, the scandalous Hail Marytakes place in Paris on October 25, 1984, the daughter of actress Bulle Ogier and musician Gilles Nicolas prefers to go out with his friends in one of the most fashionable nightclubs in Paris, the Palace. One last evening at the end of which she collapses, struck down by an attack of angina, a warning sign of a heart attack.

The young woman, indeed, has suffered from a congenital malformation since childhood and has a very fragile heart. His friend, he does not know, and does not immediately call for help. A delay that will be fatal to him, since‘she dies at home, just hours from celebrating her 26th birthday, the next day. A death whose true circumstances will not be revealed until twenty years later: it would indeed seem that all this was caused by an overdose, her whose abuses were known to her close friends.

Moreover, long before all this was formalized in 2018, the singer Renaud (whose addictions also ate away his life…) had alluded to the young woman in his song Little bitchalready talking about drugs and “carrion dealers“. In a portrait of the actress by Release a few years later, director Aline Isserman, who was one of Pascale Ogier’s closest friends, revealed thatshe had advised him to calm down just hours before his death.

She was very tired and I insisted that she slow down… We had had this same conversation a few days before, but she hadn’t been able to escape from this enormous happiness that she was experiencing. .. Pascale, exhausted, wrung out, was delighted with this whirlwind. It must have been between 7 and 8 p.m., I say goodbye to him on the sidewalk“, she said, still moved.

Her half-sister, Emeraude, also spoke in 2018: “My mother picked me up from college. She didn’t want me to hear the news from a school friend who heard it on the radio. I didn’t realize that Pascale was so famous. For me it was just my big sister: a normal girl with a crazy life. A “crazy life“who ended up causing his downfall, but which left him with the image of an eternal icon, that nothing will ever take away from him.
