An American Airlines plane en route from Dallas to Seoul was forced to turn back due to a mechanical problem. How “Unilad” reported that the problem occurred shortly after startup.
Airline confirms reversal due to safety concerns
An American Airlines spokesperson also shared the “New York Post” said that the safety of passengers was the top priority: “The decision to turn back was made to ensure the safety of everyone on board.”
In a further statement to Unilad, the airline said that the passengers were cared for after their return at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. The exact nature of the mechanical problem is currently under investigation.
Airplane passenger “unlocked new fear”
A woman who was on the flight died Instagram reported the incident. She writes that she “unlocked a new fear” because her plane turned back without explanation after five hours of flight.
A stewardess can be heard saying over the intercom: “Just relax and enjoy the rest of your flight.” At that point, her soul would have left her body, writes the frustrated woman, who was on her way to South Korea. The only explanation the passengers found out was that the toilets weren’t working properly, she tells the New York Post.
Passenger Jaci Purser reported hearing hissing and blood coming from her ear. The pilot returned to Salt Lake City, where emergency responders provided medical care to ten passengers. Delta Air Lines apologized and said technicians had fixed the problem. The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the incident.
