Raven Software has already released a new update for Call of Duty: Warzone Pacific, including the returning Iron Trial mode.

While they already released patch notes yesterday, March 2, the developers are not stopping and rolling out a new update this Thursday, March 3. On the menu, a game mode that lands on Rebirth Island, some minor changes in Vanguard Royale and some classic bug fixes.

Iron Trial is finally back in Call of Duty: Warzone.

Patch note update Warzone Pacific March 3

MODES

Vanguard Royale

Adjustments detailed in our March 2 patch notes will go live today with the playlist update at 7 p.m.

That said, we’ve made one final change:

  • Drones are now available at Buy Stations for $6,000

After further discussion, our team decided to reintroduce the drones at the lower price of $6,000 to monitor the pace of the game closer to the original design. Once we have collected enough data, we will make the subsequent decision whether or not to proceed with the proposed increase to $9,000.

Giving players a fun and consistent long-term experience can sometimes take a bit of short-term experimentation!

Trial of Iron Rebirth

Trials of Iron makes a glorious return today as part of the March 3 playlist update – this time on Rebirth Island!

At its core, Trial of Iron Rebirth is a Battle Royale game mode – the last team standing wins, the circle shrinks the playable area to promote engagements, and those who die earlier in the game have a chance to respawn if they win a duel in the Gulag on Renaissance Island.

However, Trial of Iron brings many fundamental changes to this traditional Battle Royale formula. All of them are meant to give players the chance to prove themselves as elite operators – here’s what they are specifically:

General

  • Match Duration and Shrinking Circle
    • Round timers have been adjusted to reflect the scale of the Rebirth Island map and increased for game pacing.
  • Classes
    • No free Gear Drops – those wishing to use their custom weapons and access Perks will need to purchase one at a higher price.
    • Vehicles
      • Only mountain bikes (all terrain vehicles) are available.
    • Buy stations
      • Elite Operators are known to be big players. The Buy Station has increased its prices accordingly:
    • Set of armor plates
    • Gas mask
    • Cluster Strike
    • precision strike
    • Self-resuscitation
    • Drone
    • Equipment Drop Marker
      • $7,500 to $10,000 on Rebirth Island
    • Specialist bonus
  • Cash
    • The amount of silver kept on death has been increased from 20% to 30%. Players will keep more of their hard-earned cash.
  • Melee
    • Melee finishing damage removed. Solve your problems with lead.

Operator

  • Basic Health
    • Compared to a normal match, the base health of all players is increased from 100 to 250.
  • Health Regeneration
    • Regeneration delay increased from 5 to 7 seconds and regeneration per second reduced from 120 per second to 40. It may be a good idea for players to reconsider preferred perks and gear.
  • Starting gear
    • Players arrive with a Top Break (VG) and Sawtooth (VG).

Booty

  • Globally
    • The item pool for Supply Boxes and Floor Found Items has been significantly changed from that seen in the standard game.
  • Basic accessories
    • Common weapons will start with an accessiure – primarily to provide their maximum magazine size.
  • Rarity Spawn Rate
    • Epic and legendary weapons are now harder to find. Players will need to open a few more boxes than usual to find what they are looking for.
  • Elimination streaks
    • Drop rates have been reduced. It’s time to stop spamming drones and start testing your senses.
  • Appearance of cash
    • Large piles of cash are more rare. Players will need to stay on top to collect some cash if they plan to afford to buy a gear drop.
  • Field improvements
    • No dead silence. No stopping power ammunition. Period.

Equipment

  • sniper rifles
    • A single headshot from a sniper rifle will only down an enemy if they are within 30 yards. This gives those who take a long shot time to react – the most elite snipers will be able to adjust their strategies accordingly and inflict deadly damage from long range with precise follow-up shots.
  • Stun Grenades
    • Duration of stun effect reduced by 50%.
  • Medical syringes
    • Health regeneration rate decreased by 50%. Upon taking direct non-incendiary damage from another player (splash damage from tactical gear does not count), the increased health regeneration effects of the medical syringe will be canceled and standard health regeneration will begin, which can be interrupted by any source of damage. Additionally, the movement speed bonus gained when using a medical syringe has been reduced from 8% to 3%.

When Iron Trial was last with us, medical syringes were the tactical gear of choice. We’d like to experiment with reducing their effectiveness to see how it affects gameplay and the viability of gear in the hands of more seasoned Rebirth Island veterans. We will be monitoring this change closely to ensure it does not have a net negative impact on the gameplay experience Trials players have come to expect.

Gulag

  • Classes
    • No akimbo. No semi-automatic or fully automatic shotguns. Limited selection of tactical equipment. It’s about the essentials and the will to survive.
  • Redeployment
    • If players survive their Gulag duel, they will redeploy with all remaining gear from that fight. Be aware of these resources.

Team size

  • duets
    • We want players to really feel the impact of the increased Time-to-Kill. You can only choose one teammate…so choose wisely and watch each other’s backs.
