- Local cooperation – Players will no longer need multiple devices to play with their friends. A new feature, local co-op, will be available on all supported platforms and will require two controllers to play. - A revised and corrected handling of the controller – Path of Exile 2 has been completely redesigned for controllers. Dual Stick is a new system that will allow you to fully customize your controls with 24 slots. Additionally, the inventory overhaul will make the game much easier to pick up. Finally, each skill has received special attention from a new team dedicated to consoles to ensure that it works well controller in hand.
- A more accessible game – Path of Exile is a game known for its complexity, but Path of Exile 2 will allow newbies to explore and understand the game’s mechanics more easily. In addition to simplifying many mechanics, Path of Exile 2 will also offer video tutorials to better understand how to use each skill in combat. A new help system that will allow players to learn how item stats work with the press of a button will also be introduced. Finally, a new system allowing players to measure the exact effects that each of their choices will have on their characters will be implemented. All this will make the game much more readable.
- Cross-play, shared progression and simultaneous launches – Path of Exile 2 will have cross-play and cross-progression features on all supported platforms. Play with your friends on other platforms, or switch from console to PC without losing your progress. The launch, as well as all future updates will be done simultaneously on PC and consoles.
- A next-generation action role-playing game – Path of Exile 2 is an action role-playing game developed by Grinding Gear Games. Brave the deadly dangers of the world of Wraeclast, and explore many cultures while confronting Evil in all its forms.
- Twelve classes, some well-known, others entirely new – Path of Exile 2 will feature twelve character classes, two for each combination of Strength, Dexterity and Intelligence. You can combine skills from several classes to create your ideal character. Each of the twelve character classes has three Ascendancy specializations, for a total of 36 Ascendancy classes to discover.
- Unique and formidable enemies – In Path of Exile 2, each area of the campaign will house a boss to face. There will be more than a hundred of them to fight over the course of the acts and each will have unique mechanics.
- A new skill gem system – Path of Exile 2 will feature 240 skill gems that grant devastating active skills and 200 support gems that will modify their behavior. In addition, it will be possible to choose two specializations for your passive skill tree, which will allow your character to switch from one fighting style to another at will.
- An improved equipment system – Path of Exile 2 will feature hundreds of gear types to discover as you explore the lands of Wraeclast. These will have a wide range of magical modifiers, but can also be found in unique variants imbued with ancient power.
- Always more content – At the conclusion of Path of Exile 2’s six-act campaign, you’ll have access to even more content. Each of these 100 new endgame maps will feature its own boss fight and modifiers that allow for revamped versions of many leagues from the first Path of Exile installment.
