The trailer of Path of Exile 2 aired during Summer Game Fest 2023, titled Ngamakanui Teaser depicts a witch struggling with vile creatures who resent her propriety. Armed with a staff, she shoots electric arcs and icy shock waves at all costs. The matron never gives ground and sinks deeper and deeper into a village plagued by chaos.
Now I’m in exile, seein’ you out
The key dark fantasy specific to the DNA of Path of Exile seems to be still present. In any case, that’s what the SGF 2023 trailer leaves. It’s hard not to make a comparison with the Sieur Diablo. When it was released in 2013, POE 1 was able to seduce thanks to its nervous gameplay and its dense content. The title had boarded the castaways of the ship Diablo III (released in 2012), thanks to its much darker art direction than that of D3. But at a time when Diablo IV seems to have set the record straight with his fanbase, will there be enough space for Path of Exile 2 can flourish? Time will tell. There remains the serious argument of POE 2 : this will be free-to-play, like his ancestor. And that’s no small advantage…
Although currently the Grinding Games title does not have an official release window, it should be announced soon. Indeed the developers have promised to give more information on their title on July 28 at ExileCon.
Path of Exile 2 is expected on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC and, a priori, should be cross-play.
