Patrice Bégay, Executive Director of BPI France: “Export brings life”

In partnership with CNEWS for its 2022 edition, BPI France’s “Big Tour” showcases entrepreneurship in France throughout the year. Guest of the Hebdo de l’éco this Saturday, May 7, the executive director of the investment bank, Patrice Bégay, delivered all the keys to understanding this area and its challenges.

While the Big Tour started last March, the event has already won over many people, especially on social networks. “It’s giving back the desire for the company to the French. On the first 5 stages (there are 30 in total in the year), there are already on social networks and digital more than 11.5 million French people who have followed us”, explained Patrice Bégay to the journalist specialist Eric de Riedmatten.

BPI France’s investment has been divided between four strategic areas. “There are 1.4 billion euros in the cultural and creative industries, the “French Touch”; 1 billion in “Deep Tech”, namely researchers who become entrepreneurs; more than 7 billion euros in the industry with the “French Fab” and green loans linked to the decarbonization of companies, it is nearly a billion euros”, affirmed the director of BPI France Excellence in Eco Weekly.

“99% of turnover can be done internationally”

Many sectors have proven to be carriers in the field of entrepreneurship, as evidenced by the leader of the French firm. “There are dynamic sectors, such as industry, construction, transport, logistics, health, hotels and restaurants”.

For the executive director of BPI France, the best development option for entrepreneurs is to turn to international trade. “We speak to them very cash, to entrepreneurs and on the international scene, we tell them: ‘go show yourself elsewhere’ and ‘show yourself’. Today, 99% of your turnover can be done internationally. Injecting innovation into SMEs is a central role, just as we did with the “Tech in Fab” to put more and more technologies in the industry”, analyzed Patrice Bégay.

The next stages of the Big Tour will take place in Tourcoing on May 26, Berck on May 28, Reims on June 16 and Dijon on June 18. More than 60,000 entrepreneurs will also be present at the Accor Hotel Arena on October 6th. “Export brings life. The international will be there. To conquer is also to grow for all these entrepreneurs,” concluded the boss of BPI France.
