Patricia Kelly: Patricia Kelly's bag is very popular among retailers

Patricia Kelly had a bag made of silver coins for "Bares for Rares". Your hoped for 200 euros was exceeded by far.

Singer Patricia Kelly (50) used the autumn edition of "Bares for Rares" at Schloss Drachenburg to sell a special accessory. She presented presenter Horst Lichter (58) on Wednesday evening (October 11) a bag made of silver coins that she had acquired as a young woman in the 1980s. At that time she was still living with the Kelly Family on their houseboat in Amsterdam.

The story of the bag: Patricia Kelly and her siblings received 50 guilders at the weekend from their father, for which they were allowed to buy something at a nearby flea market. Later, Dan Kelly (1930-2002) explained to his children "whether it was a good or a bad purchase". From him the singer got the "love for good quality", she said.

Sale for a good cause

Since Patricia Kelly wants to donate the proceeds from the bag sale, she hoped for 200 euros. Expert Detlev Kümmel (52) explained: The silver coins come from Great Britain, the bag must have been made in the 1920s. Since the coins are made of 925 silver, the purely material value of the bag should be around 350 euros. "It's getting better and better here," said the singer happily, without knowing what was to come.

There was great enthusiasm in the dealership. The value of the bag should not only be based on the silver price, but on the fact that it had been in the possession of Patricia Kelly for almost 30 years, the dealers agreed. The bids rose correspondingly rapidly. Walter "Waldi" Lehnertz (53) finally won the bid. He bought the bag for 1,000 euros. The singer herself "overjoyed" added another 500 euros out of her own pocket, which should benefit the Breast Cancer Association Germany.
