The former rbb director Patricia Schlesinger was dismissed without notice. The Board of Directors has now announced this.

Patricia Schlesinger (61) has already resigned as rbb director. Nevertheless, the board of directors terminated the employment contract without notice. This was announced by the board of the public broadcaster. “Your claims to the payment of post-contractual pension and surviving dependents’ benefits are revoked,” it says. The chairwoman of the rbb board of directors, Dorette König (58), is quoted as saying that a severance payment is also out of the question “on the basis of the available facts”.

Trust was “permanently destroyed”

The decision was passed with a large majority. The relationship of trust with Schlesinger was “permanently destroyed,” König continued. Schlesinger shared according to the rbb through her lawyer that she regrets the decision. The procedure is not covered by the facts, however. The investigations are not yet complete.

Various allegations have been made against the former rbb director Patricia Schlesinger for weeks. Among other things, it is about questionable consulting contracts, horrendous sums for office conversions, an expensive company car with a strangely high discount or huge salary increases. Schlesinger always rejected the allegations, but resigned about two weeks ago as ARD chairman and rbb director. A good week ago, the rbb broadcasting council called her off. A few days ago, Friederike von Kirchbach (67) finally resigned from her post as chairwoman of the rbb broadcasting council.
