During the first confinement, the whole of France was at a standstill, but more was needed to stop Patrick Bruel. The 61-year-old singer continued to put balm in the hearts of his fans via Instagram where he gave live concerts every day in order to keep in touch and collect donations for nursing staff, hospitals and associations in the medical sector. 100,000 euros were thus donated by admirers of Patrick Bruel. Money well deserved since the singer-songwriter was actually very bad on some nights: like more than 2 million French people, the star of the song had contracted the coronavirus. A disease he kept a secret so as not to alarm his relatives, as he told Anne Roumanoff on Europe 1 in his show It feels good Tuesday 15 December 2020.
"At the time I didn't tell anyone because II didn't want to worry my mom, my family, my children ", explained Leon and Oscar's daddy born out of his love for his ex Amanda Sthers. Keeping this secret was particularly easy for the actor, who was confined alone in Paris, as a precaution.
"I was afraid"
The flip side is that Patrick Bruel could therefore only count on himself when he was bad. He particularly remembers a very complicated night: "I was scared because yes … it was half past two in the morning … the pulmonary system was a little affected at that time and then I had a pulmonary history a little complicated so I was like, 'shit this is the shit for me' ". But after a good night's sleep, Patrick Bruel was fortunately much better. The father waited until the next day to have a scan which finally reassured him: "He confirmed there was no more risk than that!"
