Key figures in French song for many years, Patrick Fiori and Jean-Jacques Goldman both maintain a deep friendship in their daily lives. If the first is currently pursuing his successful singing career, the second decided several years ago to withdraw from the media scene. However, Jean-Jacques Goldman still collaborates occasionally with certain artists. As such, Patrick Fiori asked his friend to work with him on his new album, called The singing is freewhich has been available since Friday February 9, 2024. However, Jean-Jacques Goldman declined the proposal from his fellow musician, as the singer of Corsican origin revealed during his appearance on the show RTL Evening Thursday February 15, 2024.

“He’s taking his turn, he has the right. I saw that he had made a song for Gautier Capuçon and Trois Cafés Gourmands. He’s still working a little but hey, it’s not as if he hasn’t wasn’t there. I made an album, he came to put his touch”, first launched Patrick Fiori, in order to defend his friend. The emblematic coach of the show The Voice Kids on TF1 then clarified that Jean-Jacques Goldman had always been there when he needed him. “And honestly, I also called him when I was in a bit of trouble. I was doing things and I said: ‘Jean-Jacques, what do you think?’ He said to me: ‘I’ll give you a little help.’ And there, as surprising as it may seem because we all have a guardian angel at one time or another, he said to me: ‘Listen, I’ll pass my turn.’ He didn’t say, ‘You don’t need me,’ he basically said, ‘It’s going to be okay!'”underlined the singer.

“I didn’t want to bother him on this album”

A few days earlier, Patrick Fiori had already mentioned the non-participation of Jean-Jacques Goldman in his new album on the air of M Radio. “I didn’t want to bother him on this album. It’s true that I was quite happy with the result and the songs I had. And then it’s not as if he didn’t bother me hadn’t made songs, it’s not like he hadn’t made songs. (…) It’s okay, I’m not going to call him every time”, declared the singer. The one who revealed himself to the general public thanks to his role in the musical Notre Dame de Paris also added that Jean-Jacques Goldman had given him positive feedback on his new record. “II received the link to the album, I sent it to him before it came out and he gave me a little note that I won’t say but which is very encouraging”he concluded.
