Now there is certainty: the authorities announced the cause of death of the S-Club 7 singer Paul Cattermole, who died in early April.

The cause of death of former S Club 7 singer Paul Cattermole has been determined. As the “Daily Mail” reports, the musician died of natural causes. Cattermole was found dead at his home on April 6, 2023. He was only 46 years old. A spokeswoman for the competent authority said, according to the newspaper: “We confirm that Mr. Cattermole died of natural causes and our investigations are complete.”

A few days before his sudden death, the musician had announced that he would be part of the group’s reunion. In a statement from his family according to The Guardian, Cattermole was found at home in Dorset on Thursday and was later pronounced dead. No cause of death was initially made public. According to the report, the police confirmed that there were no suspicious circumstances.

In a statement on Instagram the band said in April: “We are truly devastated by the passing of our brother Paul. There are no words to describe the deep sadness and loss we all feel. We were so lucky to have had him in our lives and are grateful for the wonderful memories we have. He will be missed so much by each and every one of us. We ask that you respect the privacy of his family and the band at this time.”

Band planned comeback

The singer was set to be part of a recently announced reunion for the group, who have amassed four UK number one singles in the past, including ‘Don’t Stop Movin’ and ‘Bring It All Back’. S Club 7 was formed in the late 1990s and had great success, not only in their homeland. Her 2000 song “Never Had a Dream Come True” was also a hit in the United States. Cattermole left the band in 2002, and the group broke up a year later.

In 2008, Cattermole reunited with band members Jo O’Meara (44) and Bradley McIntosh (41) to form S Club 3. They did not release new music but did perform live across the UK. The full band then reunited for an arena tour in 2015 and again in February of this year to announce another tour to begin in October. After Cattermole’s death, the remaining band members changed their name to S Club.
