Ringo Starr sent emotional birthday greetings to Paul McCartney. He refers to their time together with the Beatles.
Paul McCartney is celebrating his 80th birthday this Saturday (June 18). Ringo Starr (81) sent him an emotional birthday message in which he refers to the time the two musicians spent together with the Beatles. Starr shared a photo of himself on Twitteron which he shows the peace sign.
With the added text “They say it’s your birthday”, the 81-year-old alluded to the Beatles song “Birthday”. It appeared on the 1968 album The Beatles, also known as the White Album. Ringo Starr tweeted “love you man have a great day peace and love” along with the birthday greetings. Also on behalf of his wife Barbara (74).
The remaining Beatles
Starr and McCartney remained friends even after the Beatles broke up. In 1970 the band members John Lennon (1940-1980), Paul McCartney, George Harrison (1943-2001) and Ringo Starr parted ways. They embarked on successful solo careers. Lennon was assassinated in 1980 and Harrison died of cancer in 2001.
