Pauli decides drama for itself
HSV comfortably overtakes Schalke
With a loosely dominant appearance, Hamburger SV crawls up to the top group of the 2nd Bundesliga. Only at the very end, the Hanseatic League against Ingolstadt got slight problems. The situation is different with the front runner St. Pauli, who has to fight hard for victory in Nuremberg.
Hamburger SV – FC Ingolstadt 04 3: 0 (2: 0)
Hamburger SV is still in contact with the promotion places in the 2nd Bundesliga. The Hanseatic League remained unbeaten in their twelfth game in a row in the undisputed 3-0 (2-0) against bottom-of-the-table FC Ingolstadt. The team of coach Andre Schubert, on the other hand, is losing more and more ground in the fight to stay in the league.
In front of 19,937 spectators in the Volksparkstadion, Faride Alidou (13th) gave the hosts the lead, Bakery Jatta (39th) increased with a header. With more consistent exploitation of chances, HSV could have led more clearly in the first half. Manuel Wintzheimer (89th) put the finishing touches.
After the break, the North Germans continued to dominate the game. The guests only came to a few tentative relief attacks, most of which were stopped long before the HSV penalty area. It took until the 69th minute before Hamburg goalkeeper Mark Johansson was seriously tested for the first time in a shot by Christian Gebauer.
1. FC Nürnberg – FC St. Pauli 2: 3 (1: 2)
Without coach Timo Schultz, who tested positive for the corona virus, FC St. Pauli has regained the championship lead from SV Darmstadt 98. Hamburg won the top game at 1. FC Nürnberg 3-2 (2-1).

Schultz had not traveled to Nuremberg with the team and instead went into quarantine in Hamburg. He was represented by his assistant Loic Fave. The lightning start meant a shock for Nuremberg, who did not recover from the rapid 0: 1 deficit. So the guests followed suit a short time later.
In the 14th minute, the club had three chances for the connection goal, but goalkeeper Nikola Vasilj reacted brilliantly and prevented the early connection goal of the FCN. In the 26th minute, club keeper Christian Mathenia parried strongly with a reflex after a shot from Burgstaller that was still deflected and prevented the 1: 3.
SC Paderborn 07 – Hansa Rostock 1: 1 (0: 1)
The SC Paderborn had to accept a damper in the promotion race. In the home game against Hansa Rostock, the Ostwestfalen did not get more than 1: 1 (0: 1) after a straight offensive performance that was too unfocused and thus missed the jump to the relegation place.
There was a premiere on the sidelines. Paderborn’s Lukas Kwasniok, as an unvaccinated person, was the first coach in German professional football with a mask in accordance with the district’s Corona ordinance. Sven Michel (85th, hand penalty) equalized for the SCP, Simon Rhein (27th) had put the promoted player in the lead before the break. Rostock increased its lead on the relegation places to four points with the point.
Paderborn started unaccustomedly erratic, the outsider from Rostock initially had more of the game. Rhein took the well-deserved lead with a fantastic volley from 18 meters. Kwasniok made three changes during the break, and his team was now clearly more dominant.
