Since April 13, new electric vehicle charging stations open to the public with an output power of up to 50kW or more must allow payment of the act by credit card (with you without contact). The new terminals of less than 50 kW must also allow secure payments, in particular using a specific QR code.
A system extended from January 1, 2027
Until now, payment at electric vehicle charging stations is mainly done by badge, either outright or through a subscription. The payment system for the act by bank card must be extended all terminals from 2027.
Thus, from January 1, 2027, charging point operators shall ensure that all charging points open to the public that they operate with an output power equal to or greater than 50 kW and which are deployed along the RTE road network -T or in a safe and secure parking area comply with the requirements, recalls the text of the law.
