. For example, if you want to give money away for a birthday, for example, or if you have borrowed money that you want to give back. This works both via the browser and via the PayPal app. There are no fees involved with the methods below, so sending money is complete

Paypal app: send money to friends
The smartphone is always at hand and therefore the easiest way to send money to PayPal friends. That’s how it works:
Open the PayPal app on your phone (Android | iOS) and log in.
In the app, tap the “€” symbol at the bottom of the screen and then tap “Send money”.
In the search field, enter the email address of the friend with whom he uses PayPal. Or select the relevant friend as the recipient from the contacts displayed.
Now enter the desired amount that you want to send.
Optionally, you can now add a message. This can consist of text, emojis, GIFs and ready-made animations. Then tap on “Check” or “Next”.
Arrived in the last step, you can change the default bank account from which the money is debited if necessary. Important: The bank account displayed must say “Friends and Family” and not “Goods and Services”.
Double-check the amount and tap Submit. Just a few seconds later, the recipient has the money as a credit in his Paypal account and can transfer it to his bank account free of charge if necessary.
Paypal in the browser: send money to friends
Open the PayPal website in your browser and log in to your customer account.
Either click Send Money at the top or click Send under Links on the right.
In the search field, enter the email address of the friend with whom he uses PayPal. Or select the relevant friend as the recipient from the contacts displayed.
Enter the desired amount.
Optionally, you can now add a message under “What is this payment for?”. You can also select a motif for different occasions using the “gift” symbol. Then tap “Next”.
In the last step, check the amount of money and your message again. Important: The amount must say “send money to a friend” and not “pay for an item or service”. You can also select the bank account from which the money should be debited under “You send with”.
Click on “Send payment now”. Just a few seconds later, the recipient has the money as a credit in his Paypal account and can transfer it to his bank account free of charge if necessary.
Send Paypal to friends – to bank account (with fees)
If your friend doesn’t use PayPal, you can still send them money through your PayPal account. PayPal also enables money to be sent to a bank account (also internationally) via the Xoom service. In contrast to the transaction between two Paypal accounts as described above, fees are incurred here. If you want to send money via Paypal to a bank account within Germany, you will incur a fee of around EUR 0.99 for EUR 100. At 1,000 euros, they are already at 6.99 euros.
