PC-WELT is moving – digital editions now at eMagazines

Many of you already know: We recently have a new solution for digital editions of PC-WELT and Linuxwelt, which you receive as part of your PC-WELT Plus or Plus Digital subscription. The old app is obsolete, from now on we use the service from eMagazines. The end of the app came as no surprise, our previous service provider was no longer able to develop the application further due to the change in its business model.

With the browser, all digital issues were still available via magazin.pcwelt.de – this will no longer be the case from March 7, 2022. Instead, you can have the link to your archive sent to the email address provided at digital.emagazines.com.

How to get the new digital editions

Every time we publish a new issue, you will receive an e-mail containing the link to the digital issue and your personal archive – so you won’t miss a thing.

Important: The e-mail will also tell you how to access the content of the DVDs in question.

put it on the whitelist of your e-mail program, i.e. the list of trustworthy senders. Otherwise the notification could end up in your spam folder.

eMagazines with many new functions

For the new start at eMagazines, we have included issues from 1/2020 onwards. New editions are added all the time.

Compared to the previous solution, eMagazines has a number of innovative new features to offer. The reading mode is particularly pleasing: You get the view of the print layout, but you no longer have to move the file back and forth on your mobile device, tablet or web browser to read it, you can call up the reading mode and edit the text according to your needs and adapt to the space available on your screen.

And what’s even better: You can also have the texts read to you! Unfortunately, we have to disappoint you a little here: it wasn’t the editors and authors who spoke their texts for you, a machine reads them out. During our beta tests, however, we were very impressed by the quality of the text read – we editors probably wouldn’t be able to do it that well.

One more thing

Oh yes, there’s one more thing: We’ve also moved physically. The new address of the PC-WELT editorial team is in the imprint, since January we can be reached by post at Georg-Brauchle-Ring 23 in 80992 Munich. Alternatively, you can of course continue to contact us at any time
