“MBe mindful of your business,” National Secretary Fabien Roussel told La France insoumise on Friday, at the opening of the PCF congress in Marseille, who had called on the Communists to “clarify” their position after statements by their leader on a Nupes considered “outdated”.
“Nobody will dictate to the Communists what they must vote, do and choose. We are sovereign, free, communists,” exclaimed Fabien Roussel, given a standing ovation by the vast majority of the 697 delegates gathered at the Palais du Pharo.

Nupes considered “outdated”
The coordinator of LFI Manuel Bompard asked the Communists, in a letter, to “clarify” their position during the congress about the declarations of the beginning of the week by Fabien Roussel, which “stunned” him. He had judged the left alliance Nupes, formed by the PCF, LFI, PS and EELV, “outdated”. He had called for it to be extended to the center-left and in particular to former Prime Minister Bernard Cazeneuve.
“Those who have something to say, let them join the PCF,” quipped Fabien Roussel. “We are a democratic party that amends, debates, votes, we, everyone can not say otherwise [autant, NDLR] “, he added in allusion to LFI, a movement which regularly experiences problems of internal democracy.
For the congress, which is held from Friday to Monday, and at the end of which Fabien Roussel should be easily renewed, “the journalists were disappointed that there was not more agitation, so the slightest sentence arouses a lot attention,” he said, referring to his statements about Nupes.
