Peacemaker: on which platform to watch the series in France?

It is an event in the United States. The “Peacemaker” series, which sees John Cena take over the role of this anti-hero seen in “The Suicide Squad”, arrives this Thursday, January 13 on the HBO Max platform.

Led by James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy), available in 8 episodes, it allows fans to find John Cena in the guise of Christopher Smith, after the events of the film. He joined a new team called Project Butterfly under the supervision of Emilia Harcourt, Amanda Waller’s assistant, and John Economos, the director of the Belle Rêve penitentiary. Surrounded by new partners, Peacemaker is given new missions. But his crisis of conscience that appeared in the finale of The Suicide Squad risks complicating his task.

In addition to John Cena, the cast can count on the presence of Robert Patrick – in the skin of the irascible father of Peacemaker – Danielle Brooks (Orange is the New Black) or even Freddie Stoma. Viewers can’t wait to rediscover the mix of humor and hyper-violence that made The Suicide Squad a hit, all with directing by James Gunn.

Where will the series be shown in France?

Not so long ago, OCS benefited from an exclusive contract with HBO, its historical partner in France, which will expire at the end of 2022. But the launch of HBO Max – and his future arrival in France – have changed the game. And OCS now finds itself no longer systematically broadcasting the productions of the American channel simultaneously, as was the case before.

Peacemaker will remain unique in France for the moment, until it lands on OCS. Perhaps in March when the streaming platform could offer the broadcast of The Suicide Squad. In the worst case, the French public will have to wait for the launch of HBO Max on the territory, which would only be expected in the course of the year 2023.
