A large fire broke out in a former textile factory in Keighley. There was previously shot for “Peaky Blinders”.
An apparently devastating fire raged on March 3 in the former Dalton Mills textile factory in Keighley, UK. The building was considered a popular film set for historical dramas. Among other things, productions such as “Downton Abbey” and “Peaky Blinders” with Cillian Murphy (45) have already been shot there.
According to British media reports, more than 100 firefighters are said to have responded. On social media and the West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service reports on its website, i.e. the responsible fire and rescue service, from the fire. The entire building was affected by the fire. More than 20 vehicles were in action in the afternoon.
Textile factory was built in 1869
A Video clip officially published on Twitter and multiple images show the emergency services during the extinguishing work. The recordings give an idea of the extent of the destruction. It is not known at this time whether anyone was injured in the incident. The extent of the damage is still uncertain.
Loud Information from “Screen Yorkshire” Dalton Mills was a former textile mill, once the largest in the historic county of Yorkshire. At that time more than 2,000 people were employed in the factory built in 1869.
