On Wednesday March 1, 2023, France 2 offers its viewers the opportunity to follow the TV movie Fille de paysan from 9:10 p.m. In this fiction inspired by a true story, viewers will discover the poignant trajectory of Joël and Murielle Pécourneau and their two daughters, Émilie and Lola.

A true “peasant’s daughter”

The latter form a united family of farmers, despite the debts that accumulate to save their farm. One day, while trying to help out a neighbour, they receive a substantial fine, for the “illicit” sale of a chicken for 10 euros…

This news puts the Pécourneau family under even more pressure. As a last resort to lift the fine, they really go into poultry farming, taking out a new loan from the bank. But a new European regulation cut short their hopes and places them again in an extreme difficulty.

While her father’s life is on hold and the future of the farm is greatly threatened, Émilie, 15, decides to publicize her story, mobilizing as many people as possible around her parents’ cause. Will the teenager, the daughter of a peasant, succeed in saving her family?

In the credits, the public finds Justine Lacroix (Émilie Pécourneau), Carole Bianic (who won the Prize for Best Female Interpretation at the Luchon Festival 2023 for her role as Murielle Pécourneau), Thierry Godard (Joël Pécourneau) and Astrid Bedu (Lola Pecourneau).

But that’s not all because Christian Sinniger (Jean Claude Pécourneau), Hubert Myon (Emmanuel Pinot), Renault Cestre (Jeremie), Pierre Gomme (Anatole), Quentin Gouverneur (Tomy) or even Mathilde Wambergue (Mme Marques) give the reply to the quartet.

A television film on the financial hardships experienced by the agricultural world and solidarity, directed by Julie Manoukian and written by Monica Rattazzi, to be seen on France 2 this Wednesday March 1 from 9:10 p.m.
