A peeling glove should ensure deep cleansing and blood circulation in the skin. Here you can find out what else the glove can do and which models are the best.

They are made from bamboo, loofah, cotton or hemp: Exfoliating gloves are used for massage and thorough cleansing of the body. With regular use, the glove should ensure well-groomed and velvety skin and even reduce cellulite. But which model should you choose and how do you use the glove correctly? We clarify your questions.

What do you need a peeling glove for?

The use of an exfoliating glove can bring benefits to your skin in many ways and it is worth dedicating a place to the beauty tool in your care routine. These are the pluses:

  • Selfcare: The massage with the glove has a relaxing and beneficial effect on body and mind.
  • cleaning: Excess sebum and loose skin cells are removed by the peeling. This ensures a pore-deep, pure and velvety skin.
  • care: After peeling, skin care products can be more easily absorbed by the skin and develop their effect.
  • Smooth skin: If you exfoliate your legs with the glove before shaving, the razor glides better over the skin and the hair is removed more thoroughly. Regular exfoliation also prevents hairs from growing in.
  • Flawless tan: If you prepare your skin with the exfoliating glove before using a self-tanner, the result will be more even.
  • Tightening: The massage stimulates blood circulation. This can reduce cellulite.

Application: How do you use an exfoliating glove?

The use of the peeling glove is not only super easy, but also pleasant and relaxing. Some massage gloves are also suitable for dry skin, but in general the glove is best used in the shower or in the bathtub. Dirt and flakes of skin can be removed more easily from the slightly softened skin. This is how you do it:

  • Moisten the exfoliating glove with a little warm water and put a drop of shower gel or shower oil on it.
  • Using circular motions and gentle pressure, guide the glove over the skin and massage either the entire body or the areas that you want to treat.
  • Most exfoliating gloves are too rough for the delicate skin on the face, neck and décolleté. Therefore, leave out these areas.
  • After exfoliating, you can shave your skin particularly well.
  • Then dry your skin off and apply a nourishing lotion to it. The active ingredients can now be absorbed particularly well.
  • You should wash the peeling glove with soap and water after use and hang it up to dry.

Which peeling glove is the best?

There are peeling gloves made of different materials such as bamboo, loofah or cotton. How coarse or soft the massage glove should be depends on your skin type. The more sensitive the skin, the softer the glove should be. Here we present a selection of different models.

Bamboo peeling gloves

the Temple Spring scrub gloves are made of bamboo. Bamboo fibers are naturally antibacterial and, unlike most polyester versions, are breathable. The gloves are suitable for all skin types, are environmentally friendly and durable. The model is available in different colors.

Viscose peeling gloves

The viscose made from natural cellulose is particularly kind to the skin. Of the Exfoliating glove from LoWell is therefore also a good choice for demanding skin. The gloves have a loop for hanging and two suction cups are conveniently included. The massage gloves can be washed at 40 degrees.

Peeling glove made of loofah

Of the Peeling glove from the pumpkin plant loofah gently and effectively exfoliates the skin and stimulates blood circulation. The back of the glove is made of soft terry cotton fabric to remove dirt and debris and pamper the skin.

Sisal peeling glove

Of the Massage glove from Sarenius is made from organic sisal. Sisal fibers are obtained from agave leaves. The structure is somewhat coarser and perfectly suited for a deep cleansing peeling and a revitalizing massage of the connective tissue. The back of the glove made of organic cotton is suitable for a gentle massage.

Hemp massage glove

This Massage glove from Sarenius is made from hemp, linen and cotton. The fine structure enables a gentle massage and pore-deep cleansing of the skin and is also suitable for people with sensitive skin. The glove is also suitable for dry massage. The glove adapts well to the hand thanks to the stretchy material. The glove is washable at 50 degrees.

How often should you use an exfoliating glove?

It is sufficient if you use the exfoliating glove once or twice a week. Just take the glove with you in the bathtub or shower every few days and integrate the massage into your care routine. If you have insensitive skin, you can use the massage glove more often. There are no fixed rules. Listen to your skin and act on what is good for you.

How often should you clean the peeling glove?

After each use, you should rinse the exfoliating glove with warm water and a little soap (or shampoo) and hang it up to dry, so that no bacteria or germs accumulate. Don’t leave it lying around wet, otherwise there is a risk of mold.

You should also wash your gloves every now and then in the washing machine at 60-95 degrees, for example in a laundry bag. When choosing the temperature, pay attention to the manufacturer’s recommendation. For hygienic reasons, you should change the glove every one to two months.

Which is better: peeling glove or peeling?

Basically, peeling gloves and body peeling have the same effect: they free the skin of excess sebum and loose skin flakes and clean the pores. Nevertheless, there are two advantages to the peeling glove. On the one hand, a peeling glove is usually cheaper than a body peeling and also lasts longer. The price-performance ratio is therefore better than with body peeling.

In addition, mechanical peelings often contain microplastics as abrasive particles. These get into the oceans via sewage and thus harm the environment. A massage glove (especially one made of natural fibers) is therefore also the better choice from an ecological point of view.

Body scrubs, however, have the advantage that they often contain nourishing oils and so care for the skin during the treatment. But you can also simply put a drop of nourishing oil on the glove and achieve the same effect. Almond oil, for example, is very suitable.

What should you watch out for?

If you have particularly sensitive skin or suffer from a skin disease, you should not use the exfoliating glove, as this could further irritate your skin. Glove peeling is also not recommended for injuries or severe varicose veins.

Do not use the exfoliating glove on the face, neck or décolleté, as the skin is too thin and too sensitive here. Make sure to wash the massage glove regularly and change it after a month or two.
