Pelosi visit to Taiwan would be a ‘provocation’, Kremlin says

Aug 2 (Reuters) – The Kremlin on Tuesday said a visit to Taiwan by U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi would be a “pure provocation” towards China.

“We can’t say for sure right now whether she’ll be going there or not, but everything about this tour and the possible visit to Taiwan is pure provocation,” the spokesperson for the organization told reporters. Kremlin, Dmitry Peskov.

China has repeatedly advised Nancy Pelosi, who began a tour of Asia on Sunday, not to travel to Taiwan, which Beijing claims as an integral part of its territory. (Reuters report, French version Augustin Turpin, edited by Jean-Stéphane Brosse)
