What is happening with the deputies of the National Rally? Since Monday, the government has been trying to defend, in a very hectic atmosphere, its pension reform in the National Assembly. That same day, Marine Le Pen denounced “manoeuvres” to “distract” deputies with voice messages of intimidation during a vote on the bill, and had indicated that she wanted to file a complaint. According to her, four of the five women MPs in her party received a message telling them that one of their children was in hospital.
The Paris prosecutor’s office indicates that it received four complaints on Wednesday from RN deputies including Marine Le Pen as president of the parliamentary group for facts qualified by the complainants as intimidation of parliamentarians. These are being analyzed.
One year imprisonment and 15,000 euros fine
In a letter addressed to the Paris prosecutor on February 7, Marine Le Pen, on behalf of her group, announced that she wished to file a complaint. “The fact of hindering, in a concerted manner and with the aid of threats, the exercise of freedom of expression, work, association, assembly or demonstration or of hindering the progress of the debates of a parliamentary assembly or a deliberative body of a local authority is punished by one year’s imprisonment and a fine of 15,000 euros”, specifies in the introduction the former boss of the RN. Subsequently, she specifies that her party has collected “60 signatures so that a referendum motion can be discussed and then voted on by the National Assembly”.

For this procedure, “the particularity is that each signatory deputy must imperatively be physically present and answer the call of his name by the Presidency of the Assembly”, specifies Marine Le Pen. Faced with this, the MP for Pas-de-Calais recalls the events that occurred during the suspension of the session. “This message allegedly emanating from hospitals in their respective constituencies informing them of the emergency hospitalization of their loved one, asking them to come urgently to the bedside of the latter”. A situation judged by Marine Le Pen as being a “maneuver with the aim of diverting the deputies from the exercise of their mandate”.
And the finalist of the last presidential election concludes her letter by specifying that this letter must be considered “as a filing of a complaint”.
