The Constitutional Council must decide this Friday on the fate of the pension reform. The Elders will render their decision at the end of the day on the four appeals filed but also on the referendum of shared initiative filed by the left. How will the members of the Constitutional Council decide?
The Sages meet this Friday in plenary rue de Montpensier in Paris to decide on the future of pension reform. Nestled in the sumptuous salons of the Palais-Royal, at the foot of the Comédie Française, the three rapporteurs will present to their colleagues a proposal for a decision on which they have now been working for several weeks with a team of lawyers.
From this first draft, the nine members will debate, deliberate away from public opinion. Their exchanges being covered by secrecy for 25 years.

Eminent lawyers and former politicians such as former Prime Minister Alain Juppé, or the two former ministers of Emmanuel Macron, Jacqueline Gourault and Jacques Mézard, will be present.
The decision made public around 6 p.m.
At the end of their discussions, the Elders will decide by a vote. In the event of a tie, President Laurent Fabius will have the casting vote. In the process, probably Friday evening, around 6 p.m., the decision will be made public.
Finally, let us remember that the Constitutional Council is not the supreme body of French political life. If he can be led to take into account the social context, he judges in law and checks whether the text respects the Constitution.
