LE FIGARO INFO – Several centrists of the MoDem will table an amendment to increase the weekly working time. Against the advice of most of their Renaissance colleagues.
The idea is not unanimous. And is already causing a stir in the presidential camp. It is formulated by certain deputies of the MoDem, an allied party of Emmanuel Macron, chaired by François Bayrou. As part of the debates on the pension reform, which provides in particular for the decline of the legal age to 64, these parliamentarians wish to table an amendment so that the working time of employees increases from 35 to 35.5 hours per week.
The measure, they calculate, would yield “at least» two billion euros. This would allow, in particular,lower the discount for small pensions and chopped careers“says the boss of the MoDem group in the National Assembly, Jean-Paul Mattei. A means, according to him, offind financial balance“.
