The left half of his face is swollen and glows in all colors when he opens the door: Albert S. * (71) from Dulliken SO literally got away with a black eye in a robbery last Tuesday. The pensioner was only released from the hospital on Saturday and said: “The shock is still deep.”
The brutal attack happened in the afternoon: the pensioner returned home shortly before 3 p.m. and had no suspicion. “I took the elevator to the top floor, unlocked the door and went into my apartment,” he reports. «When I tried to close the door, it slammed. Three men pushed open the door from the outside and got in. “
A fist in the face
Two of the masked figures pressed him to the ground while a third person hurried into the office: “They tied my head with tape: my eyes, nose and mouth. Then I got angry and could hardly breathe. That’s why I started screaming and lashing out wildly. “
The two robbers let go of the raging man – but Albert S. had made the calculation without the third crook. «When I wanted to get up, the one from the office came towards me. He then punched me in the face with his fist before he fled, ”he continues. The injured man first had to regroup, he recalls: “But then I dialed the emergency number and went out onto the terrace. From there I could see the burglar’s BMW station wagon and tell the police the license plate number and the direction of travel. “
Did the robbers smell the big money?
Fortunately, the emergency services arrived at his home a short time later. “Everything was covered in blood and I was taken to the hospital by the ambulance. My cheekbone is broken and I had to have an operation, ”says the 71-year-old, who still runs his own company. While the Solothurn canton police do not yet want to comment on a possible motive, the businessman suspects that the thieves probably smelled money on him and assessed him as an easy victim.
But far from it: According to Albert S. they were only able to steal a wristwatch and a bunch of keys, the latter being found in the lawn not far from the apartment building.
Now the Romanians are in jail
The escape with the miserable rest of the loot also ended quickly: thanks to the retiree’s quick reaction, the three alleged perpetrators between 34 and 53 years of age were arrested a short time later at the Aarau-West motorway junction. According to the regional broadcaster Tele M1, the Romanians are now in custody for at least three months.
