Senator of the Vendée and president of the group Les Républicains in the Senate, Bruno Retailleau is the guest of Sonia Mabrouk this Tuesday. On the eve of a day of mobilization which promises to be very popular against the pension reform, Bruno Retailleau affirmed the need to carry out this reform for the survival of the pay-as-you-go pension system.

At the microphone of Sonia Mabrouk, Senator LR Bruno Retailleau defended the highly contested pension reform project. The mobilization planned for Thursday by the inter-union promises to be massive. All means seem good to make the government back down. Thus, the CGT federation of mines and energy is considering cuts against elected officials who would be in favor of it. Methods that outrage Senator LR: “these are methods that are illegal and outside the rule of law. I call on the State to firmly sanction this kind of action”.

“If ever it should happen, I will stand up because I do not give in under threat,” he added.

“general interest”

The president of the LR group in the Senate believes that the pension reform is “of general interest”. Bruno Retailleau raised two arguments in favor of the pension reform: “Our social model is the pay-as-you-go system. It is a balance between the young and the not so young. There are fewer and fewer young people. If we do not carry out this reform, there will be no pensions for the youngest”.

He also explains the need for the reform by the lack by the “decline in the birth rate” present in France. “I also call on the government to carry out a major family policy”, indicates Senator LR. According to Bruno Retailleau, President Emmanuel Macron to “unravel” family policy: “We no longer have universal family allowances, aid for young children has been reduced, the family quotient has been reduced. need a big family policy,” he explained.
