Pensions: on the ground, Renaissance deputies called upon to do the after-sales service of the reform

REPORTAGE

The opposition is active and the unions have come together against the pension reform. Their mobilization seems for the moment very followed, the petition of the inter-union has already collected at least 345,000 signatures. Faced with the sling, the majority has no choice but to convince the French that its bill is fair and essential. Thus, to get the message across, the Renaissance deputies did not hesitate to wet the jersey this weekend.

“I find myself having to work two more years”

At the Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon market, Cyrille Isaac Sibille, MoDem deputy from the Rhône, comes to defend the pension reform. The deputy discusses with Pascale, a dental assistant born in 1964: “I would have started working at 18, it was good for me. Unfortunately, I started at 19. PAF! I find myself having to work two years older”.

Some passers-by, even if they are opposed to the reform, appreciate all the same to see the deputy confronting the voters. “Me, what I don’t like is to see politicians at the time of elections on the markets. On the other hand, we see them less at key moments to explain strong issues. There, in this case, we feel that there is a real concern of the French. So me, he has not convinced me for the moment, but I wish him to convince others”, explains another passer-by at the microphone of Europe 1.

“We can still send messages”

Deputy Cyrille Isaac Sibille takes stock after his visit to the market. “I am going to meet Olivier Dussopt, Minister of Labour, and Elisabeth Borne, Prime Minister. We can still send messages. We will see during the examination of the reform what can be done. is that they are unhappy but they don’t blame us. It’s a surprise!”

The Rhône deputy is ready to return to the market next week to defend the reform.
