The day after the promulgation of the law on pensions by Emmanuel Macron, only a few hours after the validation of the text by the Constitutional Council, the opposition continues to denounce the speed of the head of state. The secretary general of the CFDT, Laurent Berger, considers that “from the start, the contempt returned to the workers will have been constant”, he wrote on Twitter. A term that he takes up in an interview given this Sunday to the newspaper The Parisianaffirming that “Emmanuel Macron’s message with this promulgation in the middle of the night is contempt for the world of work and disconnection with reality until the end.”
“We knew that this reform would be unpopular”
A “contempt” that Olivier Dussopt disputes. Guest this Sunday of the Grand Rendez-vous d’Europe 1/ CNews/ Les Echosthe Minister of Labour, Full Employment and Integration affirmed that “there is no contempt, there is the desire that everyone be respected in their skills”.
Faced with Laurent Berger’s reaction, the Minister of Labor justified himself by stating that “we knew from the start, and this was confirmed by the votes of the CFDT congress in June, that there would be a disagreement on the questions of age or duration of contribution and we knew, to go to the end of the reflection, that this reform would be unpopular because none of the reforms is”.

As for the question of the method, described as “brutal” by the opposition, Olivier Dussopt affirms that “we did what was necessary, what is necessary. We can always do better. But we have respected a political commitment made by the President of the Republic, after months of consultation which made it possible to build convergences, but which also made it possible to note, unfortunately, the maintenance of a significant disagreement on the question of age”, adds the Minister of Labour, who also hopes “that the dialogue with the social partners will resume”.
If Emmanuel Macron had offered the unions to receive them after the decision of the Constitutional Council, the inter-union refused, announcing that it would not accept a meeting with the executive before May 1. A big day of mobilization is already expected for Labor Day.
