A new showdown
This article 40 provides that any amendment or bill that degrades the public accounts may be deemed inadmissible. Unsheathing this tool could therefore invalidate the initiative of the Liot group. This is what the president of Renaissance, Jean-René Cazeneuve, general rapporteur for the Budget, wants. “This bill is not admissible from a public finance point of view. This article will have to be used and I, in any case, will campaign for it to be done because it is to respect the Constitution. I think it’s important that MPs respect the Constitution,” he said.
