People Can Fly partners with Microsoft to develop Project Maverick

The Polish developer is looking for 40 new faces to swell the ranks of its Newcastle team, in person or remotely, to work on Maverick, “AAA developed in collaboration with Microsoft“. The development will be carried out jointly between the European and North American teams of People Can Fly. In addition, the various job offers are looking for “RPG enthusiasts” and engineers comfortable with Unreal Engine.

Can Fly Polish Studio

Previously, the Polish studio partnered with Square Enix to develop the GAAS shooter Outriders; despite its more than respectable popularity (3.5 million players in one month), the title has never been profitable for People Can Fly. Another twist, in 2022, Take-Two let go of the studio on their mysterious Project Dagger which is heading towards self-publishing. Their CEO Sebastian Wojciechowski keeps smiling despite the waves; a new Montreal branch was opened last year. The official website states that the group employs more than 650 developers.

In People Can Fly’s plans for the years to come, we find Project Gemini, still in association with Square Enix, as well as the mysterious Bifrost, Victoria and Dagger, intended for self-publishing. The job offers also mention a certain Project Red in the conceptualization phase. Green Hell VR and Bulletstorm VR bring up the rear of this well-filled catalog.
