PepsiCo: partial shutdown of its activities in Russia

PespiCo announces that it will suspend the sale of Pepsi-Cola and its global beverage brands (including 7Up and Mirinda) in Russia, as well as its capital investments and all advertising and promotional activities in the country.

The company recalls, however, that it has been operating in the Russian market for more than 60 years and assures that it has ‘contributed to creating common ground between the United States and the Soviet Union’.

‘As a food company, we must more than ever remain faithful to the humanitarian aspect of our activity. This means that we have a responsibility to continue to offer our other products in Russia, including basic necessities such as milk and other dairy products, infant formula and baby food.

In addition, PepsiCo says it has suspended its operations in Ukraine to allow its associates to get to safety.

Finally, the company indicates to increase the production of food and beverages in neighboring countries to meet increased needs.
