Perfect eyebrows thanks to microblading

Microblading is a permanent makeup technique that allows you to obtain a dream line of eyebrows, full, harmonious and natural. However, this method can seem intimidating at first. Here's everything you need to know about microblading before making an appointment!

For several years now, eyebrows have become one of the main beauty concerns. We no longer want them extra-fine like in the 90s, but instead we prefer to sport a well-rounded and defined line like that of Cara Delevingne or Lily Collins. The eyebrows frame the eyes and harmonize the face, so it is essential to take care of them. However, not everyone has thick, smooth eyebrows. Some have naturally thinning or very light brows, others have given in to the super-fine eyebrow trend of the 1990s as aging results in hair loss as well. However, this is not inevitable! It is quite possible that all women can sport a beautiful, full and well-defined line thanks to makeup or more permanent techniques such as microblading. This semi-permanent makeup method allows you to display perfect eyebrows without the need to apply makeup every morning. Your eyes will only be more captivating! No need for pencil, powder or tinted gel. Eyebrows stay pristine from waking up to night. Rather tempting, no? But before you book an appointment, here's everything you need to know about microblading.

What is microblading?

Microblading is a very realistic semi-permanent eyebrow makeup method. This technique allows for the most natural result, whether you just want to fill your eyebrows, whether they are very clear, very sparse or if you have lost them due to alopecia. During the service, the beautician usually offers a personalized color that perfectly matches the natural color of the bristles of your eyebrows and your hair by using several shades for a multidimensional result and therefore, much more natural. The technique allows in particular a restructuring of the line so that it is more homogeneous. Indeed, the technician adapts the shape of the eyebrow to that of your face to harmonize your features.

During the session, the beautician does not use a tattoo gun, but a small blade with many micro-needles which scratch the skin and allow pigment to be deposited. Thanks to this, the technician creates an appearance of fuller, fuller and well-defined eyebrows for a perfect line. Microblading is very realistic, because the technique imitates real hair for a more natural result.

How is microblading different from tattooing?

The technique of microblading is designed to look like makeup. The service is carried out in a beauty salon by an experienced beautician. The pigments are injected much less deeply into the skin of the eyebrow than with a tattoo. In addition, they are different from those used for a tattoo, because they are only semi-permanent. In fact, the dye particles are less concentrated than the ink used for a tattoo. During the session, the beautician uses a state-of-the-art tool to create very fine and precise features that resemble real body hair for a more realistic, natural and refined result. It is therefore difficult to determine whether it is a tattooed hair or an existing hair. This then creates the appearance of fuller, fuller, and perfectly defined brows.

While you might think the procedure is painful, in reality a microblading session provides much less pain than that of a tattoo.

How to take care of your eyebrows after microblading?

As after a tattoo, it is essential to not wet your eyebrows after a microblading session, if possible for at least a week, the time of healing. After the service, friction on the skin, exposure to the sun, aggressive beauty products, sauna, hammam or excessive sweating caused for example by a heavy workout are avoided. To protect the pigment, but also to prevent infection of the skin, an antibacterial ointment is used on his eyebrows for the first 24 hours. You can then use petroleum jelly or a healing cream for the duration of the healing, approximately one week. After this period of time, we continue to moisturize the skin of the tattooed area and protect it from the sun by applying sunscreen. UV rays can alter the pigment, so it is important to take good care of your eyebrows after a microblading session.

How long does microblading last?

A microblading service lasts about an hour. After the session, semi-permanent makeup lasts for one to three years for a stunning, non-moving brow line. However, after four to eight weeks, it is necessary to do a new touch-up to ensure that the result is satisfactory and that the pigmentation is suitable for you. It may also be useful to realize touch-ups every 8 to 12 months so that the eyebrows remain perfectly defined and harmonious. Your eyes will then be to die for!

What price for a microblading procedure?

A microblading service costs between 100 to 600 €. This price may vary depending on the geographical area, the equipment and the technique used, but also on the experience and reputation of the technician. It is important to choose a beautician who uses good quality products for a better result that will last longer. Often, the price displayed includes the alteration to be carried out within 2 months of the service. As for the other touch-ups, they are generally less expensive than the initial session. It costs around 50 euros for each new touch-up.
