Peripherals, The Worlds of Flynne (Prime Video): what is the series adapted from?


On Friday October 21, 2022, the series Peripherals, the worlds of Flynn will be unveiled on Amazon Prime Video. It is directly adapted from a novel released in 2014.

Sci-fi fans are preparing to discover the new series Peripherals, Flynn’s Worlds, which will be unveiled on Friday, October 21 on the Amazon Prime Video streaming platform. This last developed by the creators of Westworld Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan stages talented actors like Chloë Grace Moretz, Gary Carr, Jack Reynor, Eli Goree or even Charlotte Riley.

The story focuses on Flynne Fisher, a young woman who lives in the rural American South, works at a local 3D printing shop and plays VR games on behalf of wealthy people. One evening, she will put on a helmet and will be propelled into futuristic London. And if this world totally contrasts with her life, she will quickly realize that she is not in virtual reality…

The series is adapted from a novel by William Gibson

If the series is so promising, it is because it is adapted from a novel by writer William Gibson. This American-Canadian is particularly famous for being one of the pioneers of the science fiction subgenre, cyberpunk. After enjoying great success with his novel Neuromancerreleased in 1984, the 74-year-old writer will continue to publish bestselling writings.

In 2014, William Gibson unveiled his 13th novel, Peripheral devices, which immediately won over its readers. The latter has the particularity of involving several futures in its history. With the release of the series based on the eponymous book, viewers will be able to be amazed and Chloë Gratz Morel could well shine in this new role on the small screen.
