According to the Interfax news agency, the Russian domestic secret service FSB prevented an attack in the Samara region. The attacker blew himself up during the arrest, the agency reports, citing the FSB. It was an accomplice of the Russian Volunteer Corps, which included pro-Ukrainian Russians.
In recent weeks, the volunteer corps has repeatedly drawn attention to itself with attacks on Russia. The fighters repeatedly invaded the Russian region of Belgorod on the border with Ukraine. Russia recently responded with heavy bombardment of its own territory.
The FSB also calls on the Russian population to help prevent potential attacks. Calls to carry out attacks in Russia should be reported immediately, the state news agency TASS reports.
