Persona 3 Reload destroys all fans’ hopes

Despite some very good news recently for Persona 3 players, with the announcement of three expansions for Reload, bad news dashed fans’ hopes.

Since the beginning of February, Persona fans have been served. First with the release of Persona 3 Reload, a remake of the PS2 game, then the recent announcement of its DLC. The Persona 3 Reload Expansion Pass will be divided into three and rolled out in waves over the course of the year. The first two contain pieces of music from other titles in the license. There are also several costumes planned. But it is especially the third expansion which is the most interesting. Expected for September, it will include the major DLC Aigis – The Answer which FINALLY offers a new epilogue to players. However, this story is not new. It comes directly from the FES version, an improved version of the original software. This announcement pleases some, but fans wanted more, in particular additions linked to the PSP edition. Unfortunately, the producer has just extinguished their hopes.

No more hope for Persona 3 Reload

With its re-release on PSP, Persona 3 revealed a ton of new features, but above all a new playable character. Players then had the option to follow the story with the basic hero: Makoto, or to select his female version: Kotone. If the latter was chosen, a whole new adventure awaited fans, with new interactions and a completely reworked interface. With the announcement of Persona 3 Reload Expansion Pass, it could have been part of the DLC additions. Except that, according to the producer, Kotone has no chance of returning.

Persona 3 Reload

“I feel really bad for Kotone, but unfortunately there is no chance that [son retour] happen. Of course, we considered planning a female protagonist, but the obstacles were too high. “It would have taken a longer development time and cost more than just making Episode Aegis.”, explained Wada Kazuhisa to Famistu. Kotone is therefore too time-consuming an addition and it is not the priority. Following this response, the producer also explains that the team must first work on “completely new works” . He did not give an example, but we can assume that he wants to focus on the essentials.

To play with Kotone, you will therefore have to get your hands on Persona 3 Portable, or turn to the work of the community. Modders didn’t wait for Atlus to integrate heroin into Reload. Unfortunately, this is just an appearance change, using Makoto’s template, which has no impact on dialog or menus.
