Persona 3 Reload & Persona 5 Tactica: Atlus formalizes the new projects of its golden egg hen

THE remake of Persona 3logically decked out with the name “Reload”, will thus benefit from the Unreal Engine treatment, with a modernization which should not be limited simply to the visuals but also to the interface of the game, more colorful than ever, and to the gameplay, visibly largely inspired by the progress made with personas 5. We bet that Atlus will take advantage of this update to rework some of the most disputed mechanics of the original game, among which the fatigue of the characters during the dungeon-esque peregrinations, or the general lack of inspiration of the design of Tartarus. . However, it has been confirmed that the additions of the FES and Portable versions will not be included in this remake, including the possibility of playing a female protagonist.

Now remains Persona 5 Tactica, which will take up the characters and the universe set up in personas 5 while decorating it with a little SRPG sauce. If Atlus is mainly recognized for its so-called “classic” JRPGs, the firm is however not at its first attempt in the tactical genre, with a whole bunch of successes over the past years, as evidenced by the sub-side Gungnir, the SMT Devil Survivor spin-offs or the firm’s publishing work on the first Disgaea. Here, Persona 5 Tactica resumes its graphic style very focused on red and black, with a twist in the character design who seems to have “chibised” for the occasion.

False exclusivity?

Persona 3 Reload is scheduled for the beginning of 2024 without further details, even if we remember that the porting of games personas 3 and 4 was also scheduled for early 2023, before being confirmed for January 19. For Persona 5 Tactica, things are more concrete: Atlus’ new SRPG attempt will be available from November 17th. It’s still important to note that last year console versions of Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 5 Royal ports were announced exclusively for Xbox Series and Xbox One, before Atlus finally confirmed the obvious. : all these games were then announced (within 48 hours) for PS5, PS5, Switch and PC. It seems very likely that this process will be implemented again for this remake of P3 and P5T. However, the big asset of Xbox remains the Game Pass, on which the two games will be accessible day one.
