Persona 5 soon adapted in series? Developers are hot!

The adaptations of video games in series or film never end. And as SEGA is satisfied with the success of Sonic on the big screen, the Japanese publisher is working on new licenses.

We didn’t see it coming. Like many publishers, SEGA wants to rush into the vein of transmedia with the adaptations of films and series of its strong licenses. And yes that includes Persona 5. It must be said that the success at the box office of Sonic is enough to leave him dreaming.

Soon a live-action series of Persona 5?

Sonic the Movie and its sequel have swept away everything in their path and it seems to be giving SEGA ideas. The Japanese publisher does not seem to want to flirt with the big and the small screen only with the blue hedgehog. The company has told IGN that it wants to adapt other licenses into series or live-action films, including those of Atlus. And inevitably, Persona 5 is the ideal candidate given its popularity and its context conducive to adaptation with real people.

The worlds of ATLUS are filled with intense stories with cutting-edge style and compelling characters. Stories like those in the Persona franchise really resonate with our fans and we see an opportunity to expand the universe in a way that hasn’t been seen, or played, before. We are working to bring these stories and worlds to life through new mediums and for new audiences.

SEGA is therefore obviously seriously considering the issue. It remains to be seen who will get their hands on this project. Netflix, Amazon Prime and HBO are particularly voracious in video game adaptations. Between Horizon, Fallout or The Last of Us, players will be able to discover their favorite franchises from a new angle. And maybe it will be the turn of Persona 5. Wait & see as they say.
