You have now recognized how personality development works in theory. Now it goes to practice. Exercises can help you:

  1. Get to know you: Take stock of yourself. Allow about an hour for this in which you will not be disturbed. On a piece of paper, write what you think of when you think about yourself. These can be character traits, hobbies, past experiences, strengths, weaknesses, dreams and trauma. You do this exercise every day for a week. Complete the list, cross things out, do them or look at them from a different angle. At the end of the week you will have created an overall picture of yourself, which you can use with full motivation for personal development.
  2. Be careful: Mindfulness can help you become aware of the current state. Feel into yourself and take in tension. What would you do now to relax? To do this, just pause for a moment and go through each part of the body in your mind one at a time. This exercise is called the bodyscan and can be done anywhere.
  3. Identify behavioral patterns: This is how you get to know and feel yourself better. Meditations and breathing exercises give you an insight into your inner being and show you what certain situations do to you, or reveal how your body reacts.
  4. Leave your comfort zone: Your inner growth can only take place when you step out of your save space and face unpleasant situations. What actions do you like to avoid because they stress you out? Do you send friends inside sometimes? For example when it comes to reserving a table by phone? Break these established patterns and make new experiences! In very few cases is it as bad as you imagine it in your head.
  5. Let positivity move into your life: Determine your own personal highlight at the end of the day. That could be the morning coffee, a booked vacation or the color of the leaves on the trees. Manifest the positive in your thoughts instead of clinging to negative things.

How do you recognize a completed personality development?

Just as one cannot tell how long the development of the personality lasts, neither can one tell when it is complete. We have a goal in mind and are undergoing a noticeable development, but when growth is complete and success begins cannot be determined by one thing. Perhaps you become more self-confident in situations that scared you a few months ago, you deal with criticism differently or you meet strangers more openly. Whatever it is, you will notice it inside you.
