A person’s body language can reveal a lot about their personality. The way we walk also gives us a deep insight.

Some people walk very slowly, while others always seem a bit rushed when they run. Body language experts can read a lot about the personality from this, like one study suggests. Posture can also be very informative – for example, whether we cross our arms or rather crouch. Which walking style do you recognize yourself?

What your way of walking reveals about you

The determined: with a quick step

Slow strolling is not your thing, are you walking at a decent pace? Then you are probably extroverted and open-minded. You like to be in company and are always happy to meet new people. In rare cases, however, your loud demeanor can also come across as a bit arrogant.

The connoisseurs: inside: a leisurely stroll

Strolling fans are self-confident. Hurry? Do not you know. Anyone who walks comfortably on their way without a specific goal – or at least with enough time until then – shows great self-confidence. If you are also one of the relaxed walkers, you radiate serenity. Sometimes, however, you have to be careful not to see things too relaxed.

The attentive: abrupt changes, but everything in view

As far as the walking pace is concerned, there is still an intermediate type that neither walks consistently fast nor slowly. Does your walk seem a bit rushed and unsteady to others because you change your speed in a matter of seconds? Then you are very conscientious and detail-oriented. If something occurs to you while walking or you notice something around you, you can react in a flash – the main thing is that everything is in order.

The sounds: stomp, stomp

Anyone who treads hard rather than taking cautious triple steps signals determination and assertiveness – but also frustration and maybe even anger. If you’re one of the stomping ones too, you want to say something with the way you walk. Your head is haunted a lot and your body makes your feelings very clear. Diplomacy is not your forte – you know where you stand.

The distanced ones: crossed arms

People who cross their arms over their chests when walking want to create distance between themselves and the world. They tend to be introverted and like to spend time with themselves. If you also belong in this category, you are practically making your posture clear to your surroundings in passing: Just leave me alone.

The worried: drooping head

If you let your head and shoulders droop, you seem depressed. You will probably brood a lot if you crouch down and walk carefully. These worried walkers often shuffle inside, which gives their gloomy aura more weight. Incidentally, those who are particularly anxious often have a slight twist to the left when walking.
